 New Teachers at Goddard starting this Fall

GODDARD WELCOMES NEW TEACHERS

Chris Pautler, 6th grade math and science.
Chris has a B.A. from Chapman University as well as additional work in technology education. He comes to us from Euclid, where he spent this year teaching seventh grade math and science. Prior to this year at Euclid, he taught grades 4-6 at two different schools in California over a seven year period. Chris will teach science math on a two-person core with Megan Olsen.

Shelbie Jenkins, 6th grade Special Education.
Shelbie comes to us with fifteen years of experience as a special educator in Oklahoma (Stillwater, Pawnee, and Perry) and in Allen Texas. She has taught at the elementary, middle, and high school level. She earned her B.S. in Elementary Education and Special Education from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, and her Masters Degree in school administration from Southwestern Oklahoma State University. In addition to Oklahoma and Colorado certifications, she is certified by the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards.

Tom Andrews, 6th grade science.
Tom has a B.S. in Science from Central Michigan University and a M.S. in Biology from the University of South Dakota. He taught science at Goddard for nine years before relocating to Vermont, where he has taught for the past three. We are so pleased to welcome him back to his Goddard home, where he belongs! He will teach on core 6-B next year.

Andrew (Drew) Holbrook, 7th grade social studies.
Drew has a B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a M.Ed. from Georgia southern University. Drew will join us from Hull Middle School in Duluth, Georgia, where he has been a teacher of eighth grade social studies for the past six years. Prior to that, he taught language arts and social studies, at DeRenne Middle School in Savannah, Georgia.

Joan May, 8th grade science.
Joan comes to us from Maryland where she has been a middle school science teacher for ten years (three years at Parkville Middle School, five years at Lansdowne Middle School, and two years at Southwest Academy in Baltimore). She earned a B.A. in biology from West Virginia and a Masters in Education from Loyola College. In addition to her work in eighth grade science, Joan will also serve as our science Olympiad coordinator.

Kurt Slothouber, math workshop.
Kurt has a B.A. in mathematics from Central College, in Pella, Iowa, and a M.A. in Teaching Linguistically Diverse Students from Northern Arizona University. He taught math for nine years at Cibola High School in Yuma, Arizona, for three years at Central high School in Greeley, and for four years at Standley Lake High School in Westminster.
